St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral, buyilt in 1966, on the corner of Second Avenue and Thirty-fourth street, a replica of Armenia’s Saint Hripsime Church, which was built in 681 AD. The patron of the cathedral Saint Vartan fought the Persian invaders who attempted to force Christian Armenians to become Zoroastrians.
