United Nations Secretariat Building, located in the Turtle Bay has 39 stories. It was designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier and was completed in 1952.

Statue of Peter Cooper, a native New Yorker, philanthropist, industrialist, and inventor by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens near Astor Palce. Cooper inventions include the first trans-Atlantic telegraph cable and America’s first functioning steam engine. Cooper also invented Jell-o, with help from his wife, Sarah.

     104 years ago, on May 14 the 28th President of the United States Woodrow Wilson proclaimed Mother’s Day a national celebration.  Happy Mother's Day!

A memorial to Richard Morris Hunt, American architect in Central Park. Hunt was a preeminent figure in the history of American architecture. He designed the façade and Great Hall of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty.
