Alice in Wonderland, inspired by characters of the Lewis Carroll classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, in Central Park. The bronze statue was commissioned by philanthropist George Delacorte as a tribute to his late wife and a a gift to the children of New York City. The host of the story's tea party is the Mad Hatter, a caricature of George Delacorte.
