Nolan Park ( Governors Island), four acre manicured green, surrounded by houses and buildings that date back to 1810.The park is named for Major General Dennis E. Nolan , veteran of the Spanish-American War, Philippine-American War, and World War I. His last command was at Fort Jay in Governors Island before he retired in 1936.
